How is Technology Integrated into the Kindergarten Classroom?

In addition to the activities listed above, students have the opportunity daily to use technology in the classroom. Computers are available during center time. At that time students are able to use the many software programs that we have available to help develop and increase their knowledge base. Using KidPix, they create number quilts, draw and label their biography, draw and label a landmark in Washington D.C., and paint a Presidential Portrait. Using Neighborhood Map Maker students make a map to the Three Pigs Houses, and they create their own zoo map (with zoo animals included). Students use the Internet to use an online dictionary, Little Explorers, and to visit PBS Kids Here students like to visit Between the Lions, for engaging and educational Language Arts activities. Students master their number sense utilizing web sites like The Ambleside School Zone. Stories are written using the program Storybook Weaverand graphs, patterns, and geometric pictures are created using Math Keys software.

These are just a few of the ways that technology is integrated into our Kindergarten classrooms. If you wouldlike some fun, educational sites for your child to visit, please check out our Fun Sites link.
