Classwork
"Children are like flowers:
they are varied and need care,
but each is beautiful alone and glorious when
seen in the community of peers."
Fredrick Froebel 1782-1852
September and October
Students are now changing classrooms in the morning for Reading. Each student has been placed in a classroom with a group of children who have similiar reading skills and abilities. Your student should be bringing home nightly homework from their Reading teacher and Saxon Math homework.
Our Pizza Hut reading program will begin in October. Each student will bring home a reader each night. They are to practice the reading the story and return the book the following day. Each book costs $4.00 to replace. Students will be asked to pay for any lost or damaged books.
Students have begun going to the library to check outbooks. First grade classes go to the library every two weeks. Students may return their books daily, should they choose to go to the Media Center during their 10:00 recess.
